Red's Reminders

We have a speed limit! The limit is clearly posted at 10 miles per hour, and we're serious about it. The streets here are rather narrow, and there are quite a few little ones running around, darting out from behind cars and so forth. What's the rush, anyway? Sure, they may dock you a half hour for being late to the plant, but is that worth killing a kid? And there's just no excuse for coming home in a rush - the beer will still be cold in the fridge and the grub will still be hot on the stove if you just slow down a bit for the hundred feet or so that you have to drive through the neighborhood. Thanks to all of you who already drive responsibly. You are role models for the rest.

There is a thin line between "automobile under repair" and "abandoned car." If your car has been on blocks for more than three months, you may be crossing that line. I don't want to be a hard-a** about this, but some of your vehicles really do detract from the overall appearance of the neighborhood. If you don't move them soon (you know who you are), I will be forced to have them towed at your expense. Consider yourselves forewarned!

Now that the weather is so nice for sleeping with the windows open, try to be considerate of your neighbors regarding noise. Most everyone repects the rule about loud TVs and stereos after 10, but we still have a few problems. Specifically, I'm referring to some of you who tend to be a bit vocal in moments of passion. It's nice that you are having a wonderful time with your significant other, but not all of us want to share your excitement. Please try to keep it down, okay?

I shouldn't have to keep saying this, but some people don't get the message. What you do in the privacy of your trailer is your business, but openly selling illegal substances of any kind in the public areas of the neighborhood will not be tolerated!

Okay, I'll get off my soapbox. Just remember that trying to get along with your neighbors doesn't cost a dime and sure improves the quality of life around here. If anyone has a problem or just wants to talk something out, you know where to find me. Take care!
